The Tugaloo River Water Trail History Paddle is June 8, beginning at 9:30am.
Pay at the event: cash or check $20 per person and $40 for families of 4.
Be at the drop off/put-in point with your boat by 8:30 am (Walker Creek Boat Launch). Walker Creek Boat Launch is located on Yonah Dam Road. From Toccoa take GA Hwy 123 (or Prather Bridge Road) to Yonah Dam Road and follow our signs!
The paddle begins at 9:30 am. You will drop off your kayak and then directed to nearby Tugaloo Bend where you will leave your vehicles.
Restrooms facilities are only at Tugaloo Bend. Please use them! There are no facilities at Longnose Creek Falls. This is a remote area. So, if you step into “woods,” please be kind to the environment.
This is our longest paddle. It’s around 8 miles. We will stop a couple of times to hear about the history of the area. This is a beautiful paddle on a pristine river.
Things you will need: a PFD (worn at all times on the river), water, a sack lunch (we will stop at Longnose Creek Falls for lunch), snacks, sunscreen, water shoes, waterproof bags, and camera. Right now, we plan to be off the river before 2:30 pm (this time can change). Drivers will be shuttled back to their cars parked at Tugaloo Bend.
Then you will return to the pull out location to pick up your kayaks. For a printable map of the area: visit our landing page: tugalooriverwatertrail.org
